Cody and I celebrated his 78th Birthday on October 3, 2020, by phone. I sang to him, “Happy Birthday” and lit a candle. I was his Activities Director at a nursing home in Ojai, California, years ago and we stayed in touch when he moved to LA in another facility. He was in a senior community in Los Angeles, and Cody and I were editing his third book on his home state of Oregon. My sister Anne Thompson, Graphic Designer/CEO at Ebookannie Design, published his books and Betsey Stewart, Callicare For Life/CEO, edited Cody's books, "Images" and "Grandpa Cody's Bedtime Stories."
He was an incredible writer, father of two grown children, Debbie and James, and Grandfather. He was proud of his Scottish MacLean roots from Edinburgh, Scotland, all the way to the Oregon coast. May dearest Errol Marvin "Cody" MacLean rest in the arms of Jesus, his Lord. Each letter he would write to me had the three crosses at the bottom...Jesus in the middle. You are loved brother Cody. After publishing his book "Images," Cody was awarded The Jeremy Bloom Wish of a Lifetime grant. Shortly after receiving this grant, he continued publishing "Sleepytime Stories."
