Our Elderly and Disabled are Cherished and Honored
at the Ventura County Fair Each Year
An Old-fashioned Country Fair
"An old-fashioned country fair with ocean air" is being held in August at the Ventura County Fairgrounds next to the Pacific Ocean and beaches. On Senior Day, August 7, 2018, the buses from all retirement communities, assisted living, and skilled nursing homes in Ventura County arrived early with their Activities Directors and CNA's and elderly to enjoy the Fair. Many were in wheelchairs, or walked with walkers, but all had smiles on their faces and couldn't wait to join in the fun. Picture to the left are Betsey Stewart and José Espinoza arriving at the Ventura County Fair 2018. José Espinoza is author of ”A Tale of Strength."
The cool morning fog felt good, and soon the sun came out and the seniors went to their favorite areas whether horticulture, horses, lambs, rabbits, 4H, arts and crafts, paintings, food court, music venues...it was awesome!!! Chole's lamb will live out her years in a Santa Paula Rancho. Seniors also came up on the train from Los Angeles, which stops right at the Fairgrounds, and seniors came from all over Ventura County, many through their senior centers and on buses too. Blessed Ventura, home of the San Bonaventure Mission and the Spanish missions. 150 Years of Paradise in Southern California Ventura.
