Ode To Sir

Errol Cody MacLean Poem

There is a Southern Gentleman I've come to know, so gentle and soft-spoken. Always willing to lend a helping hand, with an open door policy, sowing good works and most surely will gain the gates of heaven. So very educated in so many ways, a Virginian and lived in Texas, widely regarded by all of his peers. His motto is "Do right and carry on." I won't take for granted or soon forget. Thank you, sir, from the bottom of my heart.

GRATITUDE TO CLAUDE

So often ignored, taken for granted. There is one I know who is a gentleman to the fullest degree, always willing to listen, resolving all problems in a gentle, kind way, speaking softly, never doubting another. All I can say is may the good Lord take a liking to him. I'm proud to know him in each and every way. My brother Rick Wood and I took lavender from the Ojai Valley (this weekend is the annual Oja Valley Lavender Festival in Ojai) and spread it in Dr. Linkous' hometown in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia in 2012, the summer he passed away. He had degrees from Texas Christian University and Bob Jones University and was, beyond doubt, the most skilled nursing home Administrator ever...50 years of experience. He will never be forgotten by the residents, families, employees, senior administrators, nurses, CNAs, activities staff, kitchen staff, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance staff for his love of all people and encouraging all under his care to be their very best. Only love permeated 601 North Montgomery Street, Ojai, California, under his decade tenure. We all still speak of you, Dr. Linkous, and will never forget you. Thank you for your Christian example of leadership. We now play your favorite gospel from the Bill Gaither Trio.
